Te Araroa, "the long pathway", runs 4,139 km down the whole of New Zealand, from Cape Reinga at the top to Bluff at the bottom. We draw it from real map data, matched to the road itself. The preview on screen is the finished poster, and it ships straight away.

Make it yours: 17 art styles, 19 colourways and your own title, with the poster redrawing live as you pick.

Giclée-printed at 300 dpi on 200 gsm matte art paper. Framed posters come in black, white or natural timber, ready to hang.

The preview is the finished poster. What you approve on screen is exactly what we print, with no proof to wait on.

The route

The trail runs the length of both islands, starting at Cape Reinga in the far north and finishing eleven weeks or more later at Bluff, at the bottom of the South Island. A journalist named Geoff Chapple first proposed a walking route the length of the country in a 1994 newspaper article, then spent years negotiating access across private land before the finished trail opened on 3 December 2011.

Cape Reinga is known to Māori as Te Rerenga Wairua, the leaping place of spirits, where the dead are said to depart from an old pōhutukawa tree on the headland before beginning the journey back to the ancestral homeland, Hawaiki. Walkers who start there cross farmland, forest, riverbed and beach before the land finally runs out at Bluff, as far south as the country goes.

Made for someone who walked it. Or for your own wall, because you did.
