Drawing your route…
The Gibb River Road is 647 km of red dirt through the Kimberley, an old cattle route between Derby and Kununurra that fords rivers few sealed roads reach. We draw it from real map data, matched to the road itself. The route is verified against the real road, and your poster ships straight away.
Make it yours: 11 art styles, 10 colourways and your own title, with the poster redrawing live as you pick.

The route
The road runs from Derby east to Kununurra, crossing dozens of creeks and rivers with no bridges, the Kimberley's red dirt turning to bulldust in the dry and washing out altogether once the wet season rains arrive. The Commonwealth funded it in 1949 as a beef road to move cattle by truck to the meatworks at Wyndham, and the southern stretch was finished in 1956, replacing droving routes that had walked stock to the coast for decades.
The Pentecost River crossing, more than 60 m of moving water with no bridge over it, is the road's best known ford and shares its banks with saltwater crocodiles, so drivers stop on the bank to check the depth before they commit. Stations along the road still run cattle over the same ground the trucks were built to reach.
Made for someone who drove it. Or for your own wall, because you did.
